Trip to west coast and commonwealth...

...And we've returned from our blogging project...

Today, as many of you should have known by now, is the date of our blogging project. We did have a bit of a hard time recording down our precise thoughts at the moment because all the thoughts were basically flooding into our brain as though a dam had burst somewhere. So, i
nstead of just copying and pasting what I had wrote down on Microsoft Word during the day, I thought I would go and edit it a bit and add a bit more thoughts as I write this blog.

The day started pretty badly, mainly because of the rain. The three man blogging team, comprising of Yuping, YingTing and me were stranded at jec because of the rain. I was not exactly in the mood to risk the life of my computer and chiong to the bus stop so that we can head off to our first destination. So, we slacked around in jec. We spent some time in the arcade and taking photos of jec, which is an old haunt of RV pupils, while waiting for the rain to die down a bit.

After about half an hour, the rain died down a bit. We decided to take our chances and chiong for the bus stop that will bring us to the west coast campus. Upon reaching the west coast campus, the weather decided that it had relaxed enough and proceeded to bombard us with a greater downpour of rain and winds strong enough to cause passing cars to fly (the above sentence has a 50% chance of containing an exaggeration). We headed for the shelter of the nearby HDB block and waited for the rain to stop attacking us, avoiding flying cars and trees whipped up by the wind along the way...

As we waited in the safety of the HDB block, we glanced at the west coast campus. It has indeed changed a lot. The D&T block and the Art room block has been demolished, replaced with a basketball court. The shed that used to store all the woods for the scouts and guides have been painted white and turned into the power house. Meanwhile, the original power house of RV has been demolished and replaced with the basketball court that we had mentioned earlier. The parade ground where the guides used to build their tents have been replaced with a grassy field, and the few trees that are still standing there are showing signs of gardener Lee sickness (This sickness is caused by lack of care from RV's Gardener Lee). As we continued to walk into the school, we realised that a large part of the school has changed. The garden has been reduced in size, with parts of it having concrete poured over it, and the auditorium has been totally demolished, along with the famous tennis court.

Some things were of course still standing, including the three basketball courts, and of course our dear old sec 2,3 and 4 classrooms. The classrooms though had changed.

As we walked through the school compound, we feel this kind of foreign feeling of the school. Blue and red, as what yuping said, is really RV colours. The blue and yellow colour painted by commonwealth secondary school is totally un-RVish, and I feel myself wishing that we never had to go for any school upgrading. I miss the pandan reservoir, the nice environment, the lack of vehicles, and the great traffic crossing where yuping learned the meaning of "jaywalk"...

I missed it all...

After staying at west coast campus for some time, we set off for commonwealth campus. The rain had decided to stop and we thus had a much easier time making our way all the way to commonwealth campus. The commonwealth campus never changed much. The only major difference is that there was no more RV logos and banners... We managed to get into the school and get a tour of it cause we managed to convince the security guard (thanks to the mighty powers of me)

I don't really feel much while I was at the commonwealth campus though, probably because not much changes has occured to it. Ms Lee should be quite happy to know that her grass revival project had succeded, and LLM should also be pretty excited that her "bio student" incident had left a lasting impression on the grass...

Well, that's about it for the blogging project (darn, it doesn't sound exciting at all ><). Well, it was never supposed to sound exciting anyway, and somehow, most of the feelings that I had were not easy to be put into words... Its all there, you just can't let it out... Wished we were still at west coast though...

your true-est emotions are often the ones that cant be said or described with words.
but is felt in the heart.
the trip back to the home of old, fond memories will definitely trigger such emotions.
we all left a legacy behind you know.
every building, structure and place will tell a story of your past.
and im sure the trip was NOT boring.
rather,
it's a very spiritually fulfuilling one for you dont you think?

Yes, the West Coast campus. It has given me countless memories (not mentioning the aroma from nearby foodstuff factories!).

I'm honoured to be the last cohort of RVians graduated from the West Coast campus.
